Calendula officinalis has been emerging from the ground the past few weeks in my garden. It is an herbaceous plant that has a brightly colored flower that comes in orange, yellow, or cream with dark red streaks. This healing plant has antimicrobial properties and used to promote wound healing. I grow this plant every year from saved seed the year before. I dry the flower heads to infuse in oil for making body butter and a simple calendula infused oil for moisturizing. This year I plan to make a calendula succus as I have a newly found use of this healing plant.
